Diet: The marbled murrelet is a carnivore (meat-eater). It eats small fish and invertebrates from the sea. It hunts during the day (it is diurnal).
Eggs and Nests: The marbled murrelet is a solitary nester. It nests high in the branches of old-growth trees. (Other murrelets nest in burrows.) Females lay only 1 egg in each clutch (a set of eggs laid at one time).
