Student Research Activity - Halloween "Find It!" Word Quiz

Students look up the answers to a set of Halloween questions.

This is one of our “Find-It!” print-outs introducing young students to research on the Internet using the Little Explorers picture dictionary.

1. Give each student (or group of 2 to 3 students) a print-out.

2. Have each student go to the Little Explorers® Picture Dictionary at
http://www.EnchantedLearning.com/
Aisfor.shtml
to use in answering the questions.

3. If, for example, the letter hint is “K,” the student should go to the “K” page in Little Explorers (by clicking on the “K” at the top of the dictionary page). The student should then find the word in the dictionary that answers the question.

4. This activity works well with small groups (2-3 students at each computer) competing against other groups in an online “scavenger hunt.”
