In this activity, each student (and the teacher) fills out a questionnaire about themselves. The questionnaire asks simple questions about when the person was born, the number of siblings, favorite book, hobbies, and other simple questions.
Then, the students each get a scavenger hunt, and they search for the information among the other students (and the teacher). The scavenger hunt asks questions like, "Find someone who has the same number of sisters that you have." When they find someone who has that attribute, that person will sign the student's scavenger hunt.
When the scavenger hunt is done, the original questionnaires can be posted on a back-to-school bulletin board. This activity can help students find those people in the class who share similar interests, helping them make new friends.
