EnchantedLearning.com My Colors Book More Kinder Crafts Make a simple book about the colors from construction paper and pictures cut out of old magazines or catalogs.

Supplies needed: Old magazines, catalogs, or newspapers with pictures Glue stick or glue Scissors Construction paper Crayons or markers Hole punch Some string or yarn

Punch a few holes along the margins of about 7 to 10 pieces of construction paper (or use regular lined paper with holes). Tie the book together with string or yarn (or staple it).

Put a personalized title on the cover and a few cut-out pictures (the child's photo or other pictures).

Write a color on each page of the book (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, white, gray, brown, black).

Go through the magazines and catalogs with the child, looking for simple pictures of the different colors. Cut out the pictures. To help the child learn the colors, say the words out loud and have the child say what color it is. Paste each picture on the page with that color and label the picture. You can also have the child draw pictures on the pages. This picture book can be a rainy day activity that you finish over a long period of time. You can use your color book to help the child learn the colors long after the book is done.
