You can turn a large cereal box into a great, personalized file for magazines or papers.
- A sturdy cereal box
- Pencil
- A ruler or any straight edge
- Scissors
- Old magazines, construction paper, gift wrap, or contact paper
- Glue
- A brush (for the glue)
Instructions
Get a sturdy cereal box. Using a straight edge, mark lines on three sides as shown.
Cut along the lines, forming the file.
Collect scraps of gift wrap paper, construction paper, scraps of contact paper, old stamps, or magazine cut-outs to make a personalized collage.
If your child likes cars or trains or flowers, have them help you go through old magazines to cut out the pictures that they like. If your child likes stamps, collect them from your old mail (you can cut the envelope carefully around the stamp, peel the stamp off slowly, or steam the stamp off).
Glue the paper on the box, making sure that you cover the top edges of the file to give it a neat, finished look. Let the glue dry.
You now have a great file in which you can organize your magazines or papers.
