Make an Earth Pendant or an Earth Light Catcher to hang in your window. This simple craft is made from flexible, tranparent plastic.
Earth Day was first celebrated in 1970.
- A piece of acetate (or any piece of thick, flat, flexible, tranparent plastic)
- A printer (optional)
- Blue and green permanent markers (sharpies work well - don't use waler-soluble markers)
- A hole punch
- Scissors
- String or yarn
Instructions
Print out a picture of the Earth (this is optional - you can simply draw the Earth yourself if you want). Choose between the Western Hemisphere (color or black-and-white) and the Eastern Hemisphere (color or black-and-white).
Place a piece of acetate (or other thick, flexible, transparent plastic) on top of an Earth printout (or draw your own directly onto the plastic).
Color a little plastic Earth using the permanent markers.
Cut out the Earth. Using a hole cutter, make a small hole near an edge.
Attach a string or yarn to your Earth and wear as a necklace or hang in a sunny window!
