You can make a simple and elegant card for Kwanzaa. The candles and candleholder are cut from construction paper.
- Printer
- Cardstock or other thick paper for the card
- Construction paper for the candles and candestick (brown, red, black, and green)
- Scissors
- A marker or pen
Instructions
Fold a piece of cardstock or construction paper in half to form the card.
You will need to cut out a large brown triangle (for the candlestick), 3 green candles, 3 red candles, and one black candle. The candle flames can either made from be small orange/yellow construction paper ovals or you can draw them on the card later using an orange marker.
Either draw the candlestick and candles on constuction paper or print the template. To print out the candlestick and candle template, click here.
Glue the brown triangle to the lower front of your card - this will be the candleholder.
Glue the seven candles onto the candle holder. The black candle goes in the central position, the three red candles are on the left, and the three green candles are on the right.
Either draw in the flames with a marker or cut our tiny flames from yellow or orange construction paper and glue them above the candles.
Write a Kwanzaa greeting on your card. You now have a festive Kwanzaa card!
