Razorclaw
There had been a great storm and a raptor chick had been left
behind. It was Utahraptor chick. It had been found by a family of
Velociraptors and was raised by them (for some weird reason). The
Velociraptors saw how big the Utahraptor chick was when it was full
grown and realized that it was not an ordinary Velociraptor chick.
The Velociraptors had taken Razorclaw (that was the name of the
raptor chick) on a hunt but a Tyrannosaurus had come for the
freshly-killed Tenotosaur carcass and was about to attack the
Velociraptor family. Then with surprising speed, Razorclaw jumped up
and with one swipe of his claw sliced off one of the Tyrannosaur's
small arms. The Tyrannosaur shrieked with pain and ran away at its
top speed, which was around 20 miles per hour, before he ended up
like the Tenotosaur.
The family was back at their cave, inside which they took shelter in
the rain, and they were very happy. Their son Razorclaw had brought
the severed arm of the Tyrannosaur home to eat. (After all, it was
good meat). They divided the arm into 3 pieces and let Razorclaw
have the biggest piece, but one of the newly born raptor chicks had
taken the hand, discovered that pulling the tendons made the fingers
move, and went off to terrorize his sister with it.
One day, a very beautiful female Utahraptor came by the cave.
Razorclaw, curious because he had never seen a raptor of his same
species, stared at her and then started to follow her. He was sure
that it was the right mate for him but when the female Utahraptor
saw him, she turned her head back the other way and snarled at him.
He suddenly realized that his "perfect" mate was not really so
perfect.
Another day, he saw another beautiful female Utahraptor. He was
determined to try again. He followed her just like he had the day
before, but when she noticed that he was following her, she just
smiled. Razorclaw knew that she was the perfect mate, and this
time, he trusted his instinct. He followed her for a while and then
realized he was lost. They had gone into a deep valley and there
were sounds of angry enemy Velociraptor packs that weren't friends
with the pack that had raised him. He suddenly saw one of the
Velociraptors scurrying around and quickly slashed with his claw.
Frightened of a raptor of that particularly immense size, the
Velociraptor shrieked to his pack for help but when they saw the
huge raptors, they ran away. The lone Velociraptor smiled
sheepishly, and with a very squeaky roar, which meant "please don't
kill me," he tried to free himself from Razorclaw's grasp.
Surprisingly, to the Velociraptor, Razorclaw let go. The
Velociraptor did another s!
quawk-like roar (which meant "Thank you") and slashed its claw,
which was a form of a salute.
Razorclaw finally ran up to the female and asked what her name was
and if she'd be his mate. The female said that her name was
Clampjaw and she would be happy to be his mate if he told her his
name. Razorclaw told her Clampjaw his name and they lived happily
ever after. Somewhere in the Mongolian desert, some of their great,
great, great (I don't know how many greats) grandkids may be living
there today.
