I have read that the supposed lifetime of a single Brachiosaurus was 100 years. How are you able to guess how old a dinosaur species may have lived to be? Do the bones have rings inside that suggest this, such as in a tree's trunk?

MIKE: Dinosaur bones do not have rings or growth lines, like a tree, in most cases. We estimate their age by seeing how fast babies and juveniles grow, and then comparing their growth rates to modern (living) species of birds and crocodiles. This also requires a LOT of fossils from all different age groups. This is a very rare occurrence and that is why our estimates are based on a very few species.
