The Test of Time A Novel by I. MacPenn |
Name all the types of Spinosaurus.

TOM: A trickier thing than you might think!
The following are definitely distinct spinosaurs:
*Spinosaurus aegyptiacus (not "aegypticus", as Alan Grant mis-speaks)
*Baryonyx walkeri
*Suchomimus tenerensis
*Irritator challengeri
Additionally, some more fragmentary remains of spinosaurs have been given
names. These *might* be distinct species, or they might belong to one of
the above species. These include:
*Spinosaurus maroccanus (might be the same as either Spinosaurus aegyptiacus or Suchomimus tenerensis)
*Angaturama limai (may be the same as Irritator challengeri)
*Cristatusaurus lapparenti (may be the same as Suchomimus tenerensis)
