The Test of Time A Novel by I. MacPenn |
What is the longest snout ever found of
Suchomimus? How long were the claws? What was the largest Dilophosaurus ever found and why did Jurassic Park put a frill on it and made it a spitter?
from Parker J.,

TOM: The only skull known of Suchomimus is incomplete, but is estimated at just about 1 meter (39 inches) or more long. The biggest claw (the thumb claw) is 190 mm (about 7 and a half inches) long.
The largest Dilophosaurus found was probably about 6.8 meters (22 feet) long and over 1.5 meters (5 feet) high at the hips.
I do not know why they gave Dilophosaurus that silly frill, since there is
no evidence for it at all. Michael Crichton (who wrote the book of Jurassic
Park) gave the dinosaur poison because he thought that the jaws would be too weak to be able to kill. In fact, the jaws of Dilophosaurus were almost
certainly strong enough to kill.
