TOM: There certainly are many cool things about it: finding dinosaur bones, trying to piece them together and figure out what they are, and so forth. However, like all jobs there is a lot of paperwork involved: writing
applications for grant money, writing up desciptions of new fossils and
new analyses, reviewing other people's studies. Also, because my position is with a University most of my time is spent not on my own research but on class related matters: organizing and giving lectures, writing and grading tests and assignments, organizing field trips, etc.
Still, it is a pretty cool job.
