Was Spinosaurus larger than T-rex? If so, was it also bigger than Giganotasaurus?
from Shane S., age 1000, nowhere, ??????????, ??????; July 26, 2001
TOM: Spinosaurus was indeed larger than T. rex, as far as we can tell. The original specimen of Spinosaurus indicated an individual that was probably 14 or more meters long (as long or longer than the biggest T. rex), but it wasn't even fully grown!! There are fossils currently in private hands that are said to be from an even bigger individual.
It is not as certain if Spinosaurus is bigger than Giganotosaurus. The original specimen of Giganotosaurus was bigger than the largest T. rex skeletons, and there are remains of another Giganotosaurus individual that is some 8% longer than the first!
