O Canada! is the name of the national anthem of Canada. O Canada! was declared Canada's national anthem on July 1, 1980. The music was written by the composer Calixa Lavallée in 1880. The original lyrics (in French) were written by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. The English version was not translated from the French. The official English version is based on lyrics written in 1908 by Justice Robert Stanley Weir (but were changed somewhat in 1968 by a Special Joint Committee of the Senate and the House of Commons).

O Canada!
English Lyrics
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
French Lyrics
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.
Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.
