Here's the Sun on an unusual day when Seattle was tied (with Phoenix) for the hottest major city in the US. The temperature here was a record high for May 6 of 86°F.
Sunspot activity is low (this is unrelated to the weather). If you compare this photo with the previous photo from two days ago, you can see that the Sun looks like it has rotated clockwise. That's because this photo was taken much later in the day than the earlier one—7 pm vs. 9 am local time. The change in orientation is due to the rotation of the Earth.
