François Boucher (1703 - 1770) was a French artist who was a court painter for King Louis XV (appointed in 1765). Boucher’s “Madame Bergeret” was painted in 1746. This painting is a portrait of a woman dressed in an ornate white gown; she is carrying a hat and is surrounded by greenery and flowers.
