Kamala Harris was the 49th Vice President of the United States and the first woman, first African-American, and first Asian-American to hold that position. Harris, a Democrat, was elected in 2020 as Joe Biden’s running mate. Before becoming Vice President, she was a Senator from California. In 2024, Harris was the Democratic Party’s candidate for President, but she lost the 2024 election to former President Donald Trump, who was the Republican candidate.
