My Word Book A Printable Book for Early Readers

Picture Dictionary

Print out the following pages to make My Word Book, an early activity book for young readers. In this book, the student writes words and draws pictures of words. The book can be made into a theme book (with pages on animals, household objects, people, etc.) or a general book listing the words with which the student is familiar.

Each student will need one cover page and many interior pages to write in. Staple the book's pages together at the left of the page, then, on the top of each page, have the student write a title for that page. Some ideas are pets, ocean animals, numbers, shapes, colors, clothing, furniture, toys, words containing a certain sound, words that start with a particular letter, etc. Also, have the student write a page number at the bottom of each page.
