Seattle normally has clean air, but smoke, haze, and ash from large wildfires in Central Washington state have blown into the Seattle area. The sun and the full moon have a eerie red look because of this, and the sunlight around us looks pinkish and weak. Both the sun and the moon are many times dimmer than usual, because so much light is being blocked. The photo of the moon was taken within a minute of the exact full moon.
