"Maybe people just decided to atack you, da masta, simply because they thought it would earn them a good reputation or something like that. But for now this subject is best left behind."

Yes, some people probably attacked me for that reason. A good reputation with the swarm. But you're right, let's forget it now.

"Thanks da masta.(about Piatnitzkysaurus)"

Like Tim M I like helping people here out.

And now that people with homework problems need to be supporters to post, I don't get to do that very often, so I think I'll say thank you for asking that question about Piatnitzkysaurus!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 13, 2002

"Also, good point da masta. I was gone for most of the "swarming"
because of school issues. So maybe some people could be as fragile as that."

Actually, they where probably just looking for any excuse to attack me. I'm not sure. I do know for certain that a lot of peolpe joined for the thrill of the kill. Quite barbaric.

BTW, I was quite surprised that JC was offended by my "this site needs debugging" post. Actually, it does sound a bit harsh... and this website is probably something that JC is sensitive about.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 13, 2002

?????????????????????

I meant that "raptors" would be at 1,000. I didn't mean Velociraptor.

By the way tis vote's for Allosaurus.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

"yes, I do remember tga."

Oops, that was an error.

I meant that yes, I do remember that Honkie told me Utahraptor couldn't jump very well. But It was a kind of wierd post, because I wasn't talking about Utahraptor....I was talking about Deinonychus.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

Thanks da masta.(about Piatnitzkysaurus)

Yes, I do remember tga
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

The only thing I cna add to da masta's info on Piatnitskysaurus is that it was described in 1979 and that it live in the Callovian to Oxfordian.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

Yes, it will take a long time for Velociraptor to catch up to T-rex (I never said it was catching up) but Gianna was saying Velociraptor hadn't reached 1000 yet so I just pointed it out.

Also, good point da masta. I was gone for most of the "swarming"
because of school issues. So maybe some people could be as fragile as that.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

"I think Velociraptor reached 1,000 quite a while ago, before December."

Well it's only 1022 now, Gianna's right about it not catching up with T - Rex in a while.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

"I never said there WERE 20 species of Meglosaurus I said there was over 20 that have been described. Many of them are either nomen nudum, nomen dubium, or synonymous with another dinosaur."

Exactly my point.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

"I don't know if Honkie is so mean or not, becausr he never typed to me. I imagine he can be mean if he DID type to me."

Honkie was calm but ruthless.

I remember, when he was talking about talking to you, he said something about, "stooping to Gianna's form of reasoning," or something like that, and he said that when he talked to you about dinosaurs he felt like he was sorting pokemon. He also said that utahraptor couldn't jump to you. So Honkie wasn't nice, even when he seemed to be, during the swarming I in fact had the illusion that he WAS very nice. But I wouldn't want to lower myself and be like he is sometimes, by delighting in his absence, (even though it is kinda refreshing just having the nicer regulars here, Joe Bob B has a point.)
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

"But I doubt anyone could be that insulted."

Maybe you don't know because you left when the swarm ("coalition,") formed again.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 12, 2002

"ANY INFO FROM YOU GUYS ABOUT PIATNITZKYSAURUS!!!"

Sure!

Piatnitzkysaurus was a late jurassic allosaurid from Argentina. Or what WAS Argentina. It was up to about 6m long, but was very lightly built, the usual allosaurid way, so that it weighed only about 250 - 300 kilos. It is only known from two fragmentary skeletons, but we have a decent idea of what it looked like - a 6m Allosaurus with big lacrimal hornlets, (display horns in front of the eyes,) from argentina. It lived alongside patagosaurus, and, um... I'm not sure what else, but if you really want to know I could look it up if you want.

The species is: P. Floresi (Bonaparte, 197_ something)

And the habitat it lived in was probably lush tropical forest, as was most of the world in the jurassic.

Hope it helps!

ANY INFO FROM YOU GUYS ABOUT PIATNITZKYSAURUS!!!
from GIANNNA, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 11, 2002

"I agree, it wasn't nice, but Honkie wasn't nice to many fans of other dinosaurs."

Actually, I think he really strongly disliked me, especially after the swarming episode in december. But he was really clever, he knew loads about T - Rex.

He was so annoying once that I actually swore, but now I think that perhaps I'd really better not have.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 11, 2002

So what will be the major topic here? The Megalosaurus thing is only being discussed between Tim and da masta.

I wish Enchanted Learning would have enough money so other people could come back and vote for T-rex. What if T-rex reached 10,000 someday? And raptors 1,000! That would be cool.

Diloph says:
"I really MISS YOU ALL!!!Especially da masta because I liked him best. I wish I could go on the favorite Dinosaurs site. And vote for Dilophosaurus. This is a vote for Dilophosaurus, by the way."

JC, is this site going to stay like this forever? Or when you get more money it'll stop?
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 10, 2002
We're not sure what's going to happen in the future. All we know so far is that we'll stay online. JC

"Provoking? I don't think so, unless JOE BOB B. is very quick to anger about small things"

Before you had to be a supporter to post messages, there where many nasty people out there, and people who easily anger about small things. I guess I haven't "adjusted" to the new settings yet.

Joe Bob B isn't the only passionate raptor fan here now by the way. And he DOES like T - Rex but he DOES like dromaesaurids infinately more. Uh, am I right Joe Bob?
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 10, 2002

You do know I'm not being nasty, just saying what I think.

BTW, Tim I think that there must be way less species of Megalosaurus in real life than 20. Just when there's any minor diffenence doesn't mean that it's a different species. If you take 2 zebra skeletons for instance they will never be exactly the same, especially if they've been there for hundreds of years and they where mature when they died.

I bet that really there are only a few species of Megalosaurus, what we think are several species are probably one.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 10, 2002

I don't know if Honkie is so mean or not, becausr he never typed to me. I imagine he can be mean if he DID type to me.

Tyrannosaurus rex(type T.rex)
Raptors
Allosaurus(A.fragilis etc.)

from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

Provoking? I don't think so, unless JOE BOB B. is very quick to anger about small things, which I don't think is the case. I believe Gianna was simply pointing out that raptors were not as popular as T-Rex, which for the moment at least is the truth. I someone told me "Sorry, maybe T-Rex will be as popular as raptors some day..."
I probably wouldn't view that as an insult, and would probably reply: "Yes, that's true, but I like T-Rex anyway..."
No fight nessecary. But maybe some people would be angered by this statement and a fight would be started. I can't tell. But I doubt anyone could be that insulted.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"maybe a few more"
There are many more described species of Megalosaurus. Over 20 I think. But they probably aren't all valid.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

I know the votes don't count. Call it being "patriotic" or something, it just shows who my favorite dinosaur is, because I haven't posted who my favorite dinosaur was in a while.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

I agree, it wasn't nice, but Honkie wasn't nice to many fans of other dinosaurs.
from JOE BOB B., age 10, Menlo Park, ?; January 9, 2002

THERE ARE NO HARDCORE RAPTOR FANS HERE ANYMORE! I WOULDN'T CONSIDER JOE BOB B BEING ONE, HE LIKES T-REX.
from Gianna, age almost 11, somewhereville, us, ?; January 9, 2002

?? All I WAS TRYING TO SAY was that raptors COULD be as popular as T-rex, just not in these couple of weeks, yet. But they have a shot at it.

My other friend who likes Deinonychus doesn't know too well about dinosaurs.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"No more swarming, no more Honkie Tong, no more impersonators. I really like that last one."

Honkie Tong could sometimes be annoying, but I do respect him. It's not really very nice going YAY! Honkie's gone!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"Yes, that's definetly the well known species, but it's not the only one."

Yup, there's M. dabukaensis, and M. tibetensis, maybe a few more, but M. bucklandii was the first dinosaur ever named (?) and described,
and I think that is one of the reasons Gianna likes it, (?) so that's the one she said. I think.

from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"By the way, this is a vote for T-rex."

You do realise that you can only vote for T - Rex (or any dinosaur) once. All your votes for T - Rex since your first one didn't count.

I just thought it would be helpfull if I pointed that out... :-)
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"Sorry, JOE BOB B, someday raptors may be as popular but not for a while."

Gianna that is quite a provoking message actually. Please don't start any fights, that's the last thing I (and for that matter anyone, I hope,) want on these boards, (apart from impersonators.) Maybe it's true but if I was a hardcore raptor fan I wouldn't exactly be very chuffed with that message.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"(I'm doing this for my friend, because his favorite dino is Deinonychus)"

I really envy you. You actually personally know TWO other people who even know what deinonychus is. There's no - one else who likes dinosaurs or any animals who I know.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 9, 2002

"Since T-rex has too many votes..."
I don't think any dinosaur can have too many votes.People vote for their favorite. It's as simple as that.

By the way, this is a vote for T-rex.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 8, 2002

Sorry, JOE BOB B, someday raptors may be as popular but not for a while.
from Gianna, age almost 11, Tyrannosaurus City, DINOLAND, ?; January 8, 2002

raptors will never be as popular as T-rex.

I'm not insulting raptors, I like them anyway. It's just that T-rex has 5,000 something votes, and raptors except Velociraptor hadn't made it to 1,000.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 8, 2002

(oops caps lock on IANNA)

Deinonychus, this vote's for you.(I'm doing this for my friend, because his favorite dino is Deinonychus)
from gIANNA, age ?, ?, ?, ?; January 8, 2002

No more swarming, no more Honkie Tong, no more impersonators. I really like that last one. I remember that a bunch of T-rex fans started using my name to vote for T-rex... It was a nightmare. T-rex fans insulted raptors even more, JC didn't know who was who, and I couldn't do anything about it. Since T-rex has too many votes, this is a vote for raptors.
from JOE BOB B., age 10, Menlo Park, ?; January 8, 2002
