This dark stone statue of King Menkaure (Mycerinus) and Queen Kah-merer-nebty II was carved over 3,500 years ago (circa 2599-1571 BC), during the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt. This slate sculpture was found on the Giza Plateau, near Cairo, Egypt, and is 54 3/4 inches (139 cm) tall.
