Well, actually raptors are not as intellignet as we thought. They just have a high brain weight to body weight ratio, but by no means that makes them smart. If we were to go by this argument that the raptors were smart by brain/body weight ratio, we will have to say that some species of hagfish and dolphins are smarter then us. Neurologists know that it's not the ratio, but rather the complexitity and structure of the brain that matters. The raptors did not really have a complex brain at all, in fact, their brains tend to be more reptilian then birdlike, while they would have had a good neuron to muscle ratio, meaning that they would have had very precise control over their bodies, it hardly makes them smart.

Tyrannosaurus on the other hand, had a complex brain. The area for complex thought, though small compaired to humans, was very large for a dinosaur, in fact, this part of the Tyrannosaur brain is actually twice as large as the raptor brain. When it comes to problem solving and complex thinking, Tyrannosaurus was certainly smarter. Forget what you see in Jurassic Park, we now know that the raptors were not really smart at all.

Velociraptor could not run anywhere near 50 miles per hour! It lacks the proper ground gripping, shock absorbing and muscle placements to run at such a speed. Velociraptors were build for agility! Not speed! In fact, Tyrannosaurus had more adaptations for going at speed. A Velociraptor probally didn't max out at anywhere near 50 miles per hour. Tyrannosaurus was probally faster. This vote is for Tyrannosaurus.

1-the t rex is not as monstous as its portrad.
2-a pack of velosa raptors would be able to take down a t rex easily, on contrare to the movie "Jurrassic Park".
3-stegosuaruses have more of "Fins" then spikes.on its backs the "Fins" are actully like little solar panels to help warm up the dinosuars.

the world is being taken over by Tyrannosaurs. we're all being brain washed by what we have heard of about Tyrannosaurs. really they are Dinosaurs who aren't that clever at all. Deinonychus and Velociraptor were very clever. Velociraptor could run up to 50 miles an hour. that is almost as fast as a modern day cheetah. Dienonychus could run up to about the same speed. Tyrannosaurs could only run up to 20 miles an hour. Raptors had long sharp claws on their hands. They had really long arms too. three Deinonychus could take down a Tenontosaurus in 5 minutes. that just reminded me my teacher asked us to try without a computer a TV or a gameboy or any electronic thing for a week or so. oh poo i can't use my computer for a week. oh well instead of using the computer or watch Tv i'll think of myself as a Deinonychus and my huge Pikachu backpack as a Tenontosaurus. then i'll leave it in my room and hide behind my bed. my bed is sopossed to be a bush. i will! crouch low and walk quietly towards my backpack. then i'll pounce on it and try to rip it to shreds. hehe that's evil ripping my Pikachu backpack up. well these are votes for Deinonychus Velociraptor and Tyrannosaurs.

Umm...Giganatosaurus no longer holds the title of "biggest terrestrial meat-eater." Two tyrannosaurs currently under excavation are 10-15% larger; while another theropod (which I believe is still unamed) from South America has been discovered which is also slightly bigger.

Woah...your are way behind! New facts in put Tyrannosaurus as the LARGEST meat eating dinosaur around. Besides, Tyrannosaurus was a extremely conmplex and sospicated predator compaired to Giggy sissy with is just a very large play on simplistic slashing and dicing. Tyrannosaurus would have made mince meat of any of those overgrown Allosaurs who have forgotten it's the Coelurosaurs (Like the raptors and Tyrannosaurus) who are now the kings of the killing trade. I don't like raptors and they are certainly inferior to Tyrannosaurus but both Coelurosaurs are certainly superior to any super Allosaur.

When the thick arid smoke clears, all that remains of the Raptor President's army is a mass of dead raptors and smashed bodies of raptor fans.The Tyrannosaurus president can only stop and wounder on what could have happened if the Tyrannosaurus and fans had lost the war. This has been a desisive victory, for when the battle reached a raging point, the raptors were stopped dead in their tracks.

After the battle, the depleted Tyrannosaurus and fans started to consolidate their position in the raptor president's territory, with powerbases reaching out, ironically, mimicking their defeated foe's original intention.

But the battle that had been fought was too hard, and the Tyrannosaurus and fans stretched too thin. Cerain outposts fell to opportunistic looters and raiders as the Tyrannosaurus fans find themselves fighting a guerrilla war without the advantage of numbers.

But adversity and hardship has been as common to the Tyrannosaurus and fans as discipline and courage, and the Tyrannosaurus and fans, with the aid of the GTVA Colossus, start to tame the lands around them, driving out the atrocities of the land. Before long, the Tyrannosaurus and fan's rule in the area was undisputed.

The Tyrannosaurus and fans had emerged from this battle scarred and wounded, but wiser, and the Tyrannosaur President, now still a president, is burderned by the task of setting up a credible force after the losses of the battle, but he is also likewise comforted by the fact that he is leading one of the greatest survivors around him, and this is a vote for Tyrannosaurus. But that is another story for another time...

T.Rex because it's tough. Injuries we find on T.Rex and associated Tyrannosaurid fossils indicate that the Tyrannosaurids in general (T.Rex included) could take an incredible amount of punishment and survive. Broken ribs, necks, hips, legs, T.Rex fossils have been found with all these injuries, but in almost every case, T.Rex took this damage and kept on coming, ready for what life in the Mezonic would throw at it next.

Look at the adverage raptor. Lightly built legs and bodies, a single bad blow that a Tyrannosaurid of similar size would have shrugged off would badly injure the raptor. We rarely find signs of grevious injuries on raptors, meaning they led a life was involved less hits because they could not afford to take them. Case in point, I would like to point out that the Velociraptor that was found locked in a struggle with Protoceratops died of a crushed chest. If you scaled this up, you would realized on its level, Tyrannosaurus took hits that were compairable to what the Velociraptor took, but it not only survived these injuries, but also lived on to kill and take more injuries and survive and kill again. Tyrannosaurus must have been like the terminator, taking alot of pounding before it finally falls.

I think the idea is quite clear here, Tyrannosaurus, designed to take all these blows and we having direct evidence of these injuries is a very strong case for T.Rex being a great hunter of large prey. And the adverage raptor, not designed with a large margin for battle damage, was most probabbly a small-prey hunter, chasing rat-like animals and lizards and stealing eggs from nests. Not the great pack hunter you raptor fans make it to be.

The evidence here is inrefutable, Tyrannosaurus was a great hunter, and the adverage raptor was a general-purpose small prey hunter and most probably scavenger.

And that's why I vote for him. This is professional voting, not pumping out a stream of simple-minded, super-short votes (Colossus being an exception). At least we Tyrannosaurus fans have good reasons to vote him. The raptor fans? They apprear to have no good reason to like raptors at all. On closer examination, all the reasons to like raptors are false.

So, some Velociraptor fans have problems with T.rex being more popular again? Here you have two of the most sophisticated, cunning, tactical dinosaurian minds in history, squaring off against one another. When two intellectual giants like this square off, not even Gary Kasparov can keep up. I'm imagining the fight will start with the pair of geniuses engaging in some light prefight banter, while simultaneously taking painstaking care to make sure their suggestive undertones address the opponent's weak points. However, I believe the fight may actually come down to a physical confrontation. In that case, we need an equation.

Let X equal the number of total Tyrannosaur popularity votes in the known universe. Let Y equal the number of times the *** can possibly get "angrier" due to being less popular without succumbing to an aneurysm. Since the Velociraptor gets stronger when he gets angrier (designated [Zi r = Zf]) and Tyrannosaurus popular vote ability allows him to attain a level above his opponents strength ([Zi+1 = Zf],) the only way one of these combatants is going to lose is if the source of their power gives out. Thus if X is greater than Y, T.rex wins. If Y is greater than X, the Velociraptor wins. This is relatively untenable until one realizes that a female T.rex is selected to fight the match (As they are the meanest T.rexes). Since that is the case, there will be twice as many X chromosomes in the Room as Y chromosomes. Since X > Y, T.rex wins and gets my vote.

Of course, there could be a simpler reason why T.rex should win… T.rex is clearly better than Velociraptor.

For those who doubt the value of a liberal arts degree, I will now explain how the laws of political science decisively prove that Tyrannosaurus has to win this match up against Velociraptor.

Just from looking at reason the fans like him, Velociraptor is obviously a monarch. How have monarchs traditionally justified their right to rule? By claiming the divine right of kings. This means that monkey boy can only justify his power because some tyrant has granted it to him. Now, let us examine the name of his opponent, TYRANnosaurus. Obviously, Tyrannosaurus established Velociraptor as a vassal ruler, and the dinosaur only rules at the sufferance of the Great Reptile Death Tyrant.

Of course kings do occasionally turn against the force that gave them power, but to successfully accomplish this they must be familiar with the diabolical teachings of the great Machiavelli (and I'm not talking about any second rate rapper you philosophical illiterates). Is *** familiar with the master's teachings??? No, because one of Machiavelli's most important rules is that you never try to take on your opponent when he clearly has the advantage (see Braveheart for why this rule is important) By going after Tyrannosaurus, Velociraptor has broken this vital rule, proving that he doesn't understand Machiavelli. Suffice it to say, I'm sure Tyrannosaurus will give him a very quick and painful lesson as to why it is important to pay attention in your polisci classes.

I shall give you three reasons why T.rex is better then Velociraptor

1. Life Experience
T.rex has spent his entire life fighting the deadly herbivores like Triceratops and Ankylosaurus, and he is known to fight other T.rexes too. He knows the pins. He knows the punches. He knows the fake falling. T.rex knows it all.

2. Continuous Winning
T.rex has won nearly every fight he has been in. This obviously makes T.rex the stronger between himself and Velociraptor. Why, you heretics may ask, why? Because out of all the dinosaurs the mighty and deadly Ankylosaurus and Triceratops worried about, was it Velociraptor? Of course not! It was everyone's favorite lizard, T.rex, and that says a lot. Velociraptor just picked on smaller dinosaurs who could not fight back. Oh, that's hard.

3. Title Dictates Authority
T.rex has two name factors that shall make him the greatest. If you could choose between the names of Tyrannosaurus and Velociraptor, what would you choose? Tyrannosaurus. Sure, Velociraptor may have some weird Latin meaning that might be nice, but that just leads up to my next point. Tyrannosaurus is a king: Tyrant King of the Dinosaurs. Velociraptor is just whatever his lame name says, and that's not saying much. 'Nuff said!

In a destructive melee between these two dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus wins with a dramatic comeback.

Velociraptor takes the early lead utilizing the biggest advantage afforded him by his dinosaur family's lineage. No, not the ability to entertain onlookers by playing with his spoor, I am talking the sickle claws which he'll use to lash out at Tyrannosaurus reapeatedly, keeping Tyrannosaurus at a distance to avoid getting cut.
Tyrannosaurus is stunned.

Then Tyrannosaurus does that cute trick where he spins one of his tiny arms clockwise, and the other arm counterclockwise. Velociraptor starts laughing uncontrollably, and Tyrannosaurus takes the opportunity to whip that titanic tail of his into some Velociraptor gut.

Velociraptor is simultaneously beaten and Eviscerated (tm). After looking takes one look at his grievous injuries, Velociraptor immediately loses interest in the fight, trying hard to do nothing but keep breathing, and that's not for long…

And T.rex becomes only the second green guy (if he was green), after Kermit the frog to take Manhattan!

Let me tell you why T.Rex is better than any Velociraptor...

I see people saying how Velociraptor could beat T.Rex, but if they used their brains they would see the obvious: How could an argument as one-sided as this ever linger over the (supposedly) intelligent memebers of the internet community? I'm so shocked I don't even know where to begin... I guess I'll start off with the obvious. The Tyrannosaurus can pulverize a hardosaur in a bite! Even with the Velociraptor "givin' her all she's got," there's no way any raptor could withstand even one hit by that thing. And that's just the jaw. Tyrannosaurus could also use other physical attacks like stomping and ramming, each of which would cause Velociraptor & Co. to go flying over the bridge railing if they hit them. And of course, hitting a Velociraptor wouldn't be difficult at all considering Tyrannosaurus's so maneuverable and agile for his size. Also, did I mention that Tyrannosaurs probably hunted in groups? Multiples of them would descend on a Velociraptor and chomp them into smither! eens. Also, did I mention the superior mobility and strength of Tyrannosaurus? It would use it to outdistance any ol' Velociraptor and tire it out while the monster jaw gets warmed up...

Ok, now let's look at what the Velociraptor can do. A) Try to bite Tyrannosaurus or kick at it. Oh no! You've ruined the new skin treatment on my Tyrannosaurus! The Tyrannosaurus is so huge, that the Velociraptor could hit at it all day and still not do anything significant to it. (Like big T. would allow it to) B) Run away. Yes, they could do that. They better do that if they want to live.

Even in a group, I doubt Velociraptormade too much more of a difference. Tyrannosaurus is about 5 times heavier and larger and boasts a good set of claws and teeth to go. The raptors are going to get their b whooped! Velociraptor puree anyone?
So it is, Tyrannosaurus will win in 3.7 seconds.

And yes, this is a vote for Tyrannosaurus and a reminder how stupid and lame Velociraptor is.

Look at the T-beast. He's practically his own military. He's stomped on the Ankylosaurus army (which, I agree is no great feat,) crushed the Duckbill navy, swatted the big-flying-lizards air force, laid waste to entire dinosaur populations, not to mention the various foolish dinosaurs that have tried to impede on his Trademarked riots. Clearly, Tyrannosaurus is ready for anything! Hell, he can fight (army,) he can fly (airforce,) he can walk underwater (navy,) he can bite through virtually anything. He's a walking meat grinder with an attitude. We should be declaring Tyrannosaurus his own mobile militant state bent on human humility.

Then there is Velociraptor. He's spent his life bullying others who cannot fight back. The only opposition he's faced is way smaller dinosaurs lashing out with their weak, frail limbs at him. Ouch. ooh. pain. Let's face it. He's soft, confused, and incapable of a decent fight. Hell, he'll probably lose his composure simply trying to deal with a few fly-boys totin' pea shooters. Besides...if he has remembered the occasion he had encountered a larger and more powerful dinosaur (not unlike T-man), he's likely to have remembered his traumatic experience and lose the edge on self-consciousness. (Home court is not necessarily an advantage here.)

Face it. Without a 20 foot Ray gun and a huge jetpack, Velociraptor is walking to his funeral.

Got to hand this one to the Big, Green N' Scaly Dude. Velociraptor has a vulnerable spot that all male members of the raptor family share claim to: the groin. And I'm sure T.rex is gonna know and exploit this.

So one mighty reptilian kick with a Bambi-crushing(tm) foot would leave the Velociraptor writhing on the ground in extreme pain. Worse, I suspect that T.rex has been watching John Woo and Godzilla flicks during his deep in-between meals breaks and will roast Velociraptor's groin with a flame blast (which he picked up from the Godzilla movies) as he flies sideways through the air for no apparent reason.

he Velociraptor's only prayer is that he keeps his groin intact but gets singed enough to unleash the floodgates of RAGE(tm). Considering that the 'Zilla fire breathing skill relies more on massive gouts of flame than pinpoint accuracy however, this is unlikely.

T.rex wins in under two minutes, and the vote goes to him!! Velociraptor absolutely stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The philosophy most commonly associated with Tyrannosaurus is that of Thomas Hobbes Tyrannosaurus, whom dinosaur's name was inspired after. The human Hobbes beleived that human life was nasty, brutish and short. Humans were selfish to the point of self-destruction, and the government is established primarily to stop stupid humans from killing each other over, say, a tuna fish sandwich. He wrote a book called Leviathan because he beleived that only a government with the power of a giant sea monster was strong enough to stop stupid humans from killing each other.

T.Rexes don't even have opposable thumbs, so it's logical to think that T.Rex will have even less of a regard for his fellow dinosaurs. Mess with T.Rex in a fight, and you're brushing up against someone who wants you dead in a ditch bleeding, both as an individual wanting to beat you to the sandwich, and as a self-appointed government official stopping you from fulfilling your self-destructive urges.

Velociraptor, on the other paw, is most commonly assocaited with hippies, thanks to the Zen masters of Pooh and the Tao of Piglet . These raptors are pacificts. The only violent thing they've done is set themselves on fire.
