Smallest Bird: Hummingbird Hummingbirds are the smallest birds. The smallest humingbird is the bee hummingbird, which is 2.5 inches long ( 6.2 cm) weighing only 0.06 oz (1.6 g). |
Smallest Mammal Ever: Hadrocodium Hadrocodium is the smallest-known mammal. It was the size of a paper clip and lived about 195 million years ago. |
Smallest Insect: Fairy Fly (Prestwichia aquatica) This parasitic wasp is only 1/100 of an inch long. |

Loudest Animal in the World: Blue Whale A baleen whale that is also the biggest animal on Earth. |
Loudest Land Animal: Howler Monkey The Howler's call can be heard up to three miles (4.8 km) away |
Loudest Insect: African Cicada (Brevisana brevis). It regularly produces sounds at 106.7 dB at a distance of 50 cm (this is about as loud as a power saw). |

Fastest Running Bird: Ostrich The ostrich is the fastest running bird; it can run up to 43 mph (70 kph). |

Longest Migration for an Insect: Desert Locust (Schistocerca gregaria). It migrates from the west coast of Africa to islands in the West Indies and back each year (4500 km each way). |

Longest-Lived Animal: Giant tortoise (Testudo elephantopus). Its life span is up to 177 years. |

Cicada The nymph stage lasts up to 17 years in northern periodical cicadas (Genus Magicicada). |

Animal with the Most Legs: Millipede The millipede with most legs is Illacme plenipes, which has 750 legs. |
MOST VENOMOUS:
Most Venomous Fish: Reef Stonefish (Synanceia verrucosa). A jab from one of the 13 poisonous spines on the dorsal fin of this fish can kill a human. |
Most Venomous Spider: Sydney Funnel Web Spider (Atrax robustus). This large, aggressive, black spider has powerful fangs. |
Most Venomous Insect: Harvester Ant (Pogonomyrmex maricopa). They have venom that is the most toxic, as measured by its toxicity to mice. |
