Dino Talk December, 2002: A Dinosaur Forum

I'll miss you, but then again, I'm probably the only one here. Man, this place is desolate.
from Joe Bob B., age 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; December 23, 2002

I'll be gone for about ten days because my mum's kick - ass new computer (that last phrase sounds like Alan Partridge said it) hasn't got the internet yet. And I'll be staying there for about ten days. Just thoguht I'd say this.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 21, 2002

By all means do, Joe. I mean, if you write it I'll read it, but I'm kind of over the whole concept of it now, and I don't think I'll write any more.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 17, 2002

I know you were faced with hordes of Rex fans and other fans, but you weren't impersonated. Ah forget it, it doesn't matter now. Oh, and to change the topic, should I make a holiday episode of DWF? I think I've sort of discontinued DWF4. Mostly it was kind of jumbled after the last one. I was going to put a scene on a train, where those nasty mutant chameleon-raptor-something else things were crawling across the train and there was a gatling gun set up to shoot them. Anyway, back to the main question: Should I make a holiday DWF episode or not?
from Joe Bob B., age 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; December 16, 2002

"Actually, those posts were sent in the opposite order. I don't know what was wrong with me. I think I meant last TWO posts. Never mind, who cares."

Ah, right. Forget it then.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 16, 2002

"You know, I almost laughed when I thought of Protazoan creatures having cancer."

Anything that has more than a few cells can have cancer, I think. If the new cells start growing randomly all over the place.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 16, 2002

"I've been here longer than you, anyway, so what's your problem"

I don't see how the fact that you've been here longer than me is relevant, yes, it's true, but what of it? And this problem you say I have doesn't exist. I was just saying you where being a bit harsh about Honkie Tong. And it isn't true that I haven't been faced with a horde of Rex fans before. In fact it was a horde of fans of almost every dinosaur. Not that it makes me better than anyone else like you seem to think I was saying, it's just a fact. Lets stop talking About this topic as well. Arguing with people who just come here to worship T - Rex and attack people is one thing and arguing with you is another.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 16, 2002

Actually, those posts were sent in the opposite order. I don't know what was wrong with me. I think I meant last TWO posts. Never mind, who cares.

"I'm stupid. Very stupid. Yeesh. Sorry. I knew you started that. I'm not THAT stupid. Oh, and did YOU ever have have hordes of people impersonating you? I think NOT! Sure, Honkie was good at debating, but how can you lose with hundreds of Rex fans backing you? I've been here longer than you, anyway, so what's your problem?"

There's no reason to feel stupid about anything, Joe.
Honkie was a good debator, and was an avid fan of Tyrannosaurus. Everybody's entitled to their opinion.
I do think that sometimes he was too biased or too cruel to the people he was arguing with, but everyone, including myself, has gotten out of hand in the past.

from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?; December 13, 2002

You know, I almost laughed when I thought of Protazoan creatures having cancer.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?; December 13, 2002

"Cancer is plain simple mutation. Of course cancer existed then! Cancer has existed ever since the first metazoans, or multicelluar animals existed! Basically, if you are exposed to radiation, or for other reasons, your cells can start multiplying at an abnoraml rate in one area of your body. You can get harmless tumors, which are called benign, and they just appear and it all stops at that. They are removed and you can forget it. But they can also be malignant, and this is waht causes cancer, malignant tumors. They are abnormal tissue growth which spreads until they actually hamper your bodily functions. This is cancer."

Yes, that's cancer.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?; December 13, 2002

Sorry about that last post. I guess I've been looking into the voting archives too much. I think I was confusing Hardcore Rex Fans with Hardcore Raptor Fans. Still, I don't think YOU ever had hordes of impersonators. Oh, and JC, speaking of the voting archives, Nov. 2001 is no longer divided into late and early. Early November is gone.
from Joe Bob Bill, age 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; December 12, 2002
Mid November, 2001 was when we had to go to a membership-only basis for write-ins, and there weren't any members writing in yet (which is why there is gap). JC.

"I wish there were more people here. Hey, the HRF weren't too good, but paled in comparison to the hardcore T-rex fans.*UH, HRF STANDS FOR "HARCORE REX FANS." I swear, if someone posted something that said that T-rex wasn't the best dinosaur, or it promoted other dinosaurs, then there were a ton of replies talking about the gory death of that dinosaur and/or the author*I STARTED THAT. SORRY*. The same with stories. My Razorclaw story was reacted to in kind. There was a person who posted a story about how Razorclaw was killed by the T-rex along with his family. I'm glad they're gone. Oh, and the impersonators. I post one message, and then it's copied and tweaked into an anti-raptor T-rex promoting message from my "Good clone". There were hordes of different impersonators, and every single T-rex fan backed them, including Honkie. I had to change my screen name into Super Mario to be rid of them. I'm glad Honkie Tong's gone, and that's it.*I DO RESPE! CT HIM. DEBATING IS AN ART HE HAS MASTERED.*"
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 12, 2002

I forgot to put that passord thing on a post JC. It was written by me. Saying yeah I like Tim's theories.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 12, 2002

"I like your theory Tim."

Hey, I do too.

It's neatly worked out. I can see what you're saying. But I go out more now and play more computer games and I have coursework, but I'll try to be here more often.
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 12, 2002

Really, you should forget what them people where saying about you earlier on. I got over it years ago. Anyway, who cares if some geezer you've never met tells you you're stupid? Ignore him. What's he gonna do?

And I sort of miss those fights too. Its funny how scientists can behave like this as well, bickering and bashing on each other!
from da masta, age ?, ?, ?; December 12, 2002

I like your theory Tim.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 5, 2002

Wow! How pleasant!

About that whole canner thing:
First of all, it's just a theory.
Second of all, if cancer exists now, why shouldn't it have existed before? Cancer isn't a uniqely a human terror.

Speaking of thanksgiving, we had some long-time firends of my mother's come over and my brother and I were given the task of watching two young children. It was o.k. until they asked us to play tag!

Here's another interesting dinosaur extinction possibility that has been mentioned before.
What causes plate tectonics? It's convection currents, right?
Anyway, the Earth's core heats the semi-liquid rock in the mantle, (there's a law of science that when something is heated it becomes less dense), so the magma rises, cools, and falls, moving the plates which "float" on top of it. What I'm getting at is thatif an asteroid or several asteroids hit the earth, they could have disturbed the currents in the magma, trigerring volcanic eruptions, which in turn could have caused a haze effect! Now add that to the other effects of an Asteroid impact and you get a recipe for disaster.

But there's still more possibilities which would take to long to explain, not to mention that they're a little too far-fetched.
from Tim M., age ?, ?, ?; December 3, 2002

PLEASE JC? ONE MESSAGE? If you can't don't worry about it.

Everyone, we have to get something going here! If I was rich I would probably donate a few hundred here. But I'm not rich and we have to come here again. All I see are Gianna's posts. Oh yeah I take back liking the fights, in fact I won't ever want to be called "Diloph the genius", "small-minded Diloph" again. (really, I thought that encyclopedia was right, I didn't know so many Rex fans would get mad at someone like ME, it would be da masta) I still love Dilophosaurus above all dinos and I swear if I could get my parents to pay money...I would have been
LOUIS TO THE RESCUE! (never call me that though) It would be perfect if nice people came not like the HRF or HRAF (Hardcore Raptor Fans) or HAF (Hardcore Allosaurus Fans).

Please.
Please.
PLEASE.

(I miss you da masta! Really!)
from Diloph, age Gianna's, not telling, PLEASE JC!, ?; December 2, 2002

HEEELLOOOO???????

(echo)

Wow, this place is totally empty (allright, except for Joe Bob B)
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 2, 2002

"This site isn't really that popular anymore is it? I would come on but my parents said no, like I already said. Sometimes I enjoy the fights. Even the one where I was SVW (Someone Very Wise) And trying to defend raptors and the Hardcore Rexies started saying stuff like 'If Diloph read that humans were capable of flying he'll probably jump out his window.' Even raptor fans were mad. But I still miss it. Nobody gets mad anymore...not that I like it but what I'm seeing looks boring. Truly. Spice it up a bit."

No, I celebrated Thanksgiving too, with my relatives in Sonora. (I played three chess games which came out to two draws and one loss, which was mine) With a really BIG turkey. I wonder where everyone is.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 2, 2002

GAAAHHHH!!!!! Gone... So... Long... Sorry about that. I really had a bunch of stuff to do. Am I the only one who celebrated Thanksgiving?
from Joe Bob B, age 11, Menlo Park, ?, ?; December 2, 2002

Is the topic the theory of how dinosaurs died? I've been missing out a whole lot. I still support the whole "meteorite" theory though...
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 1, 2002

Okay...I remember when Tim talked about school getting harder and more TIME CONSUMING, and also going to Reno like once a month (don't ask) and I get a ton of homework now. But I am back anyway.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 1, 2002

Er....hello?

I have been gone, it seems like a year and its only been a month or so. I've been really busy too.
from Gianna, age ?, ?, ?, ?; December 1, 2002
